The Full Breakdown

What to Expect at Medieval Times Orlando

Medieval Times keeps things simple: a castle, an arena, horses, knights, and a dinner with no cutlery. It’s loud, a bit cheesy and very good at keeping children entertained for two hours. The Orlando castle is at 4510 W Vine St in Kissimmee, less than nine miles from Disney.

The castle and the tournament

The evening starts in the Hall of Arms, with its displays of medieval weapons and coats of arms. Doors open 60 minutes before showtime, so there’s time for photos and a look around the castle before you’re called to your seats.

Each section of the arena is a color, and the crown you get at check-in tells you which of the six knights to cheer for. The show is set in the 11th century and mixes jousting, sword fights, horsemanship and falconry, with horse dressage segments woven into the story. The horses are Pure Spanish horses, and for many families they’re the real stars.

The menu

The Medieval Times dinner and show ticket includes a four-course dinner: garlic bread, tomato bisque, oven-roasted chicken with an herb-basted potato and sweet corn, and dessert. You eat it with your hands, medieval style, which kids find hilarious. Silverware is available if you ask.

Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals are available on request; tell your server. There’s no wider menu choice, and a few reviewers say the vegetarian plate is only okay. The chicken, garlic bread and corn get the most praise.

Drinks

Dinner comes with two rounds of soft drinks. Alcohol and any extra drinks cost more, and reviewers mention that bar prices are high. Gratuities for your server are not included, so plan to tip.

Tickets, prices and cancellation

The official site lists general admission from about $78.95 per adult and $47.95 per child (as of 2026), with premium packages costing more and prices varying by date. Children under 3 get in free if they sit on an adult’s lap and eat from that adult’s plate. A child who needs their own seat and meal needs a child ticket.

The GetYourGuide ticket includes admission, dinner, the two drink rounds, pre-show time in the Hall of Arms and free parking. The key catch: it has no free cancellation. If your dates might move, or you’re waiting on a weather forecast for another plan, the Polynesian Fire Luau is a similar family evening that you can cancel up to 24 hours before. See our breakdown of the Medieval Times ticket for the full inclusions.

How long is Medieval Times?

Plan on about two hours in the arena, including dinner. The tournament itself runs roughly 75 to 90 minutes, depending on the source. Add the pre-show hour if you arrive when doors open, which is worth it for the photos and to settle in without a rush.

Is Medieval Times worth it?

For families with younger children who love knights, horses and cheering, yes. It’s a well-run show with real horsemanship, a fixed timetable and dinner included, and the color-team cheering keeps kids invested from start to finish.

Skip it if you’re a group of adults looking for great food or a sophisticated night. The meal is simple, the drinks are pricey, and the humor is broad. Teens can go either way. For adults, the Speakeasy murder mystery on our dinner shows page is a better match.

Which one should you choose?

  • Kids who love knights and horses: Medieval Times.
  • Mixed ages, or plans that might change: the Polynesian Fire Luau, with free cancellation.
  • Staying on International Drive: Pirates Dinner Adventure or Outta Control, both closer.
  • Tight budget: Outta Control, with unlimited pizza, beer and wine.

Practical information

Getting there and parking

The castle is at 4510 W Vine St, Kissimmee, in the US-192 area, less than nine miles from Disney. Parking is free, but transport isn’t included, so you’ll need a car or a rideshare. From International Drive, allow extra time for the evening drive.

When to arrive

Arrive when doors open, 60 minutes before showtime. You’ll pick up your crown, see the Hall of Arms and take photos before seating starts. Arriving at the last minute means rushing straight into the arena.

With young children

Under-3s can sit on your lap for free, as long as they share your plate. The arena is loud, with trumpets, cheering and galloping horses, so ear defenders can help sensitive toddlers. See our Orlando with toddlers guide for more ideas at that age.

Rain, heat and planning the day

The show is indoors, which makes it a dependable plan for a stormy summer evening when outdoor attractions close early. Kissimmee also pairs well with a daytime animal outing: Gatorland is open every day until 5 pm and sits 15 to 20 minutes from the Disney area, which leaves time to rest before the castle doors open.

"Really great show and lovely servers. Expensive drinks at the bar and food was nice but veggie option was only okay. The corn on the cob and garlic bread was delicious! Really fun and exciting atmosphere. Our experience certainly exceeded expectations. The server was extremely grateful for the tip which was nice. (In my experience of Orlando tourist spots so far 18% is usually expected.)"

Jade United Kingdom

"This was so much fun haha real life medieval the experience you have to scream for your color! Haha, they should give a little more options for food. But they give you the whole experience as before. No cutlery, just coziness, nice atmosphere. If you like medieval, you will definitely build coziness and atmosphere here. It takes 2 hours in total. 18:00 arrived 20:00 back home."

Gustavo Hong Kong

"So much fun, Astounded by how well the horses were trained. Food was great especially the chicken."
