Every SeaWorld Orlando coaster and water ride with its height minimum, the three animal presentations, Sesame Street Land, a one-day plan and the order to ride in.

Updated October 2026

Riders at the top of a blue SeaWorld Orlando roller coaster on a clear day

SeaWorld Orlando has eight roller coasters, two big water rides, Sesame Street Land and three scheduled animal presentations, so plan the day around coasters in the morning and shows at midday. If you only ride three things, make them Mako, Manta and Pipeline; with a mixed-age group, add Penguin Trek (42 in) and Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice (39 in), which younger kids can ride too. All of it is included with a standard SeaWorld Orlando park admission ticket, rated 4.1/5 from more than 2,200 reviews on GetYourGuide, and our SeaWorld Orlando tickets page compares the ticket options.

SeaWorld Orlando rides and height minimums

SeaWorld lists these minimum heights. Riders between 42 and 48 inches need a supervising companion on Infinity Falls, Journey to Atlantis and Penguin Trek, so check the signs at each entrance for the final word.

The big coasters

Mako

If you ride one coaster at SeaWorld, make it Mako. It climbs 200 feet and reaches 73 mph, and SeaWorld calls it Orlando’s tallest and fastest coaster. Instead of loops, you get long stretches of airtime. Ride it in the first hour, before the line builds.

Manta

Manta flies you face-down, hanging under the track, so the first drop feels like diving headfirst at the ground. It is a SeaWorld signature and nothing else in Orlando rides quite like it. Skip it if inversions or a face-down position bother you; Mako feels more traditional.

Pipeline: The Surf Coaster

On Pipeline you ride standing on a surfboard-style seat that moves with the track. It is not the most intense coaster in the park, but even experienced coaster fans usually find it new.

Kraken

Kraken is the park’s older floorless coaster, with plenty of inversions and speed and little in the way of theming. It often has a shorter line than Mako or Pipeline, so it fits well in the middle of the day.

Ice Breaker

Ice Breaker launches you backward and forward several times instead of climbing a lift hill. Its 48-inch minimum lets some younger riders try a launch coaster before they reach 54 inches.

Family rides and the newest attractions

Penguin Trek

Penguin Trek is a launch coaster that runs partly indoors and finishes inside a real penguin habitat, so you get the ride and the animals in one queue. At 42 inches it suits families moving up from Sesame Street rides. Because it is new, family-friendly and popular with all ages, its line builds early. Quick Queue on the Ultimate Ticket Bundle does not cover it.

Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice

Expedition Odyssey is SeaWorld’s newest open attraction, a story-led ride through an Arctic research mission that ends in an area with beluga whales and walruses. The 39-inch minimum means nearly the whole family can ride. Put it near the top of your list with mixed ages, and ride it in the hot early afternoon if the morning line is long. Quick Queue on the Ultimate bundle does not cover it either.

SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep

SeaWorld has announced SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep, a suspended dark ride through undersea scenes, and in October 2026 its rides page still listed it as opening soon. Do not plan your day around it unless SeaWorld has announced an opening date before your trip.

Water rides: Infinity Falls and Journey to Atlantis

Infinity Falls is a round-raft river ride with rapids and a big final drop, and you can get soaked. Journey to Atlantis is part water ride and part coaster. Both need riders to be 42 inches, with a supervising companion up to 48 inches. In October 2026 SeaWorld listed Journey to Atlantis as running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, so it is not a rope-drop ride. Save both for a hot afternoon, and wear clothes and shoes that can get wet.

Shows and animal presentations

SeaWorld’s presentations run at set times, while rides take whoever is in line, so build the day around the show times. Check the day’s schedule in the SeaWorld app when you arrive. Three presentations are on the program:

  • Orca Encounter at Orca Stadium, an outdoor presentation about orca behavior and care. There are splash zones near the pool, so take the warnings seriously.
  • Dolphin Adventures at Dolphin Stadium, about bottlenose dolphins. It is the easiest presentation to fit in with young children.
  • Flippers, Facts and Fun: The Sea Lion Experience at the Sea Lion & Otter Stadium.

All three are included with admission. SeaWorld also sells one-time Reserved Seating from $19.99 per guest (October 2026, higher on some dates), and you must arrive 30 minutes before showtime to keep the seat. On a quiet weekday you can skip it and arrive 20 minutes early instead. It makes more sense on holiday weekends, or when the shows are the main reason you came.

Animal areas between the rides

Even on a coaster-first day, the animal areas give you shade and a break from the queues. Good stops include Dolphin Cove, the penguin habitat at the end of Penguin Trek, Shark Encounter, Pacific Point Preserve for sea lions and seals, the manatee area, the belugas and walruses at Expedition Odyssey, and the underwater viewing at the orca habitat.

Shark Encounter sits next to Sharks Underwater Grill, the park’s sit-down restaurant, where tables look into a large shark habitat. It suits a slower lunch on a hot day.

Orcas and animal welfare

SeaWorld still keeps orcas and dolphins, and keeping these animals in managed care has been controversial for years. Today the park presents Orca Encounter and Dolphin Adventures as educational presentations about behavior, care and conservation. If captive cetaceans bother you, decide before you buy the ticket. You can spend the day on rides, aquariums and Sesame Street Land, but orcas and dolphins are a visible part of the park.

SeaWorld with young children

Sesame Street Land is the reason SeaWorld works for toddlers and preschoolers. It has small rides such as Elmo’s Choo Choo Train (36 in) and Super Grover’s Box Car Derby (38 in), play areas with no height minimum, character meet-and-greets and splash areas. Sesame Street Land is a Certified Autism Center, with a quiet room in its childcare facility, available first come, first served.

The hard part comes with one small child and several coaster-loving teenagers. Split up for an hour or two: one adult takes the little one to Sesame Street Land while the others ride Mako and Manta. Our Orlando with toddlers guide has more ideas for that age.

SeaWorld for teenagers and coaster fans

A teenager who is 54 inches or taller can ride Mako, Manta, Kraken and Pipeline, plus Ice Breaker, Penguin Trek, the two water rides and Expedition Odyssey. That is enough to fill a day without watching a single presentation, and a SeaWorld ticket usually costs less than a day at Disney or Universal. For teens who want Harry Potter or Nintendo, Universal is the better day; see our best rides at Universal Orlando for those. More ideas for this age are in Orlando with teenagers.

Where to eat

Food is not included with a standard ticket. Quick-service options include Voyager’s Smokehouse, Expedition Café, Seafire Grill, Altitude Burger, Panini Shore Café, Lakeside Grill and Waterway Grill, all part of the All-Day Dining Deal, which you can add on the SeaWorld Orlando ticket listing. Our SeaWorld tickets page explains when the dining deal pays off.

For one sit-down meal, Sharks Underwater Grill has the most memorable setting. SeaWorld also sells Dine with Orcas, a separate dining experience beside the orca habitat with a closer look at the animal-care team; treat it as an animal experience, not a lunch upgrade, and book it on SeaWorld’s own site.

A one-day SeaWorld Orlando plan

Show times change by day, so use this order as a frame and fit the presentations in when the app says they run.

  1. Before opening. Be at security 30 to 45 minutes before the gates open on a busy day, with the SeaWorld app open for live wait times.
  2. Opening. Ride your top coaster: Mako, Manta or Pipeline, or Expedition Odyssey if it shows the longest wait.
  3. First 90 minutes. Get two or three more big rides done while lines are short.
  4. Late morning. Penguin Trek, which gives you a coaster and the penguins together.
  5. Midday. A dolphin or orca presentation; arrive early enough to get a seat.
  6. Lunch. Eat before noon or after 1:30 p.m. to miss the peak.
  7. Early afternoon. Shaded and indoor stops: aquariums, Shark Encounter, Expedition Odyssey.
  8. Mid-afternoon. Infinity Falls or Journey to Atlantis while it is hottest.
  9. Late afternoon. A second presentation, or Sesame Street Land for small kids while older riders go back to the coasters.
  10. Last hour. Re-ride your favorite. Lines can shrink late in the day, so check the app.

On select nights the park closes with the IGNITE fireworks and drone show; see the calendar if you want to stay late.

Coaster-first and kid-first routes

For coaster fans, do not spend the first hour at a show. Ride early, watch a presentation at midday, and ride again in the late afternoon. A good priority order is Mako, Manta, Pipeline, Expedition Odyssey, Penguin Trek, Ice Breaker, Kraken, then the two water rides.

With children under 54 inches, turn the plan around so you are not walking past rides they cannot do:

  1. Penguin Trek, if they are 42 inches
  2. Expedition Odyssey, if they are 39 inches
  3. Sesame Street Land
  4. Dolphin Adventures
  5. aquariums and animal areas
  6. lunch
  7. the sea lion or orca presentation

Seeing SeaWorld in half a day

You can, if you pick a focus. A half-day coaster plan covers Mako, Manta, Pipeline, Penguin Trek and Expedition Odyssey and skips most shows. A half-day family plan covers Sesame Street Land, Penguin Trek, Expedition Odyssey, one dolphin or orca presentation and one big animal area. The presentations turn a five-hour ride plan into an eight-hour day, so with only four hours, pick one.

Rain, heat and lightning

Ordinary rain rarely stops a SeaWorld day; lightning does. Outdoor coasters and water rides stop while lightning is near, and summer afternoon storms are common from June to September. Ride your top outdoor coaster in the morning; if the forecast shows storms from 3 p.m., do not save Mako for later. SeaWorld’s weather assurance and what it covers are on our SeaWorld tickets page.

Accessibility

SeaWorld’s Ride Accessibility Program matches a guest’s abilities to each ride’s requirements. Enroll at Guest Services just inside the entrance; you get a list of rides you can board and a return time at each ride instead of standing in line, with up to five people in your party. Shows, parades and restaurants are not included. Wheelchairs and ECVs can be rented to the right of Guest Services or reserved online, and SeaWorld publishes an accessibility guide with each ride’s requirements. Read it before you go if ride access will shape your day.

Tips before you go

  • Use the SeaWorld app for live waits, show times and mobile food ordering.
  • Bring a portable phone charger; between waits, maps and schedules, you will use your phone all day.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes that can get wet if you plan to ride Infinity Falls or Journey to Atlantis.
  • The park is cashless; cash-to-card kiosks turn cash into a prepaid Visa card at no charge.
  • Check the event calendar for your date, since some evening events need their own ticket.

Frequently asked questions

How many roller coasters does SeaWorld Orlando have?

Eight: Mako, Manta, Kraken, Pipeline, Ice Breaker, Penguin Trek, Journey to Atlantis and Super Grover’s Box Car Derby. Expedition Odyssey and Infinity Falls are rides too, but not coasters.

What is the best roller coaster at SeaWorld Orlando?

For most coaster fans, Mako, for its height, speed and airtime. Manta is the most unusual because you fly face-down, and Pipeline is the one most riders have never tried before.

What is the newest ride at SeaWorld Orlando?

Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice, with a 39-inch minimum. SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep was still listed as opening soon in October 2026.

Are SeaWorld shows included with admission?

Yes. Orca Encounter, Dolphin Adventures and the sea lion presentation are all included. Reserved Seating costs extra, from $19.99 per guest in October 2026.

Does SeaWorld still have killer whales?

Yes. SeaWorld Orlando still keeps orcas and runs Orca Encounter at Orca Stadium, with underwater viewing at the habitat.

Does SeaWorld have rides for small children?

Yes. Sesame Street Land has kid-sized rides, play areas with no height minimum and character meet-and-greets, and Expedition Odyssey starts at 39 inches.

Can you visit SeaWorld and Aquatica on the same day?

With a multi-park ticket you can, but it is a lot for a first visit, since each park can fill most of a day. Spread them over two days within the 14-day window instead.

Is one day enough for SeaWorld Orlando?

Yes, for most first-time visitors. Coaster fans can cover the big rides in half a day; families who want the presentations, Sesame Street Land and the animal areas need the full day.
