About This Experience

Discovery Cove is an all-inclusive day resort next to SeaWorld Orlando, with a limited number of guests each day, so it feels calmer than a theme park. Your ticket is for one set date. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and soft drinks are included all day, along with select beer and wine if you are 21 or over. Wetsuits, snorkel gear, towels, lockers, shower amenities and animal-safe sunscreen are provided, you keep a souvenir snorkel, and parking at Discovery Cove is free.

Most of the day is spent in the water. You can snorkel over the Grand Reef among thousands of tropical fish and rays, then float along the Wind-Away River through caves and past waterfalls. Between swims there is the Explorer's Aviary, the Freshwater Oasis, and the quieter beach at Serenity Bay. Wetsuits and snorkel gear are required in the animal habitats, and you must remove jewellery other than wedding bands before swimming.

What you get depends on the package. The Day Resort Admission options come with or without the Signature Dolphin Swim, a 30-minute small-group session in the Dolphin Lagoon with a deep-water tow or shallow-water interaction. Swimmers must be at least 6, and children aged 6 to 12 need a participating adult. The 2-park packages and the Ultimate package add 14 consecutive days of admission to other parks from SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, with all three in the Ultimate package.

Some things are always extra: dolphin photo packages, cabanas and daybeds, premium drinks and cocktails, and add-on experiences such as SeaVenture, Shark Snorkeling and Ray Feeding. You cannot take your own camera into the water during the dolphin session, and the resort is cashless. Hotel transport is not included. This suits couples and families who want a slower day with animals, and it is less suited to anyone who does not enjoy spending hours in the water.

excellent - provision of excellent variety of food and drink, free use of prescription googles and towels, clean facilities, enjoyed swimming with the fish and the stingrays and the dolphin, unfortunately had to wait for clearance with swimming due to danger of potential lightening so not managed to get a chance to go into the lazy river

Does every Discovery Cove ticket include the dolphin swim?

No. The Signature Dolphin Swim is only included in packages that name it: Day Resort Admission + Signature Dolphin Swim, Day Resort Admission + Dolphin Swim + 2 Parks, and the Ultimate Package. The Day Resort Admission (No Dolphin Swim) and Day Resort Admission + 2 Parks options give you the resort, snorkelling, meals and drinks, but no dolphin session.

Which packages include SeaWorld, Aquatica or Busch Gardens?

Only the park packages. The 2-park options add two parks and the Ultimate Package adds all three: SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Visits are valid for 14 consecutive days around your Discovery Cove date. Check which parks your chosen option names at checkout. Busch Gardens is in Tampa, and the listing notes a free shuttle from SeaWorld is often available.

What food and drink is included?
