Orlando: Gatorland Skip-the-Line Ticket

About This Experience
Gatorland has been open since 1949 and is still owned by the family of its founder, Owen Godwin. The 110-acre park sits on South Orange Blossom Trail between Orlando and Kissimmee, and you walk in through its famous gator-mouth entrance. This ticket gives you full-day admission, with the shows and exhibits included. It is a smaller, older-style attraction, a natural alternative to the big theme parks rather than a ride park.
Inside you walk past thousands of alligators and crocodiles, including four rare leucistic white alligators, as well as a free-flight aviary, a petting zoo and the alligator breeding marsh. The shows set the rhythm of the day. At the Gator Jumparoo Show some of the largest alligators leap 4 to 5 feet out of the water for food, and in the Legends of the Swamp Show handlers enter the arena with live 6 to 8 foot alligators in front of a shaded 800-seat stadium.
Food, drinks, transport and tips are not included. Visitors also report that animal encounters and souvenir photos cost extra, so budget for any you want. Strollers and wheelchairs can be rented at the park. There is a small water play area for children, so pack a towel if yours will want to cool off, and plan for heat, since much of the park is outdoors.
Gatorland works well for families and anyone curious about alligators who wants a few relaxed hours rather than a full theme-park day. It is easy to combine with other plans, as it is close to both Orlando and Kissimmee. If you want to see alligators in the wild, an airboat ride is the better choice, since everything here is in enclosures, pools and marshes within the park.

What Travelers Say

I absolutely loved it. me and my husband had a brilliant time. loved seeing all the different animals. done the close encounters with a snake, tarantula and of course the gators. it is fairly cheap to enter park. get refills ( not free but really cheap, under $1) if you buy the cups. you pay $5 or 10 for an animal encounter but you have to pay separately for the pictures. although they do allow you to take your own pictures. in my opinion it is great value for money. we spend the full day there. taking our time and enjoying everything. can be done quicker if you want to just rush round it but personally I don't see the point. if I am ever back in Florida (I'm from Scotland) I would definitely be back.

It was a great experience. It had a little bit for all ages. From the petting zoo and shows to the interaction with the gators.

Food, drinks, transport and tips are not included, and visitors report that close animal encounters and souvenir photos are paid separately on site.
How long should I plan to spend at Gatorland?
The ticket is valid for the full day. The park is 110 acres, and planning around show times is the easiest way to structure a visit. Some visitors move through it faster, while others report spending the whole day and taking it slowly. Check the show schedule when you arrive.
Where is Gatorland, and how do I get there?
Gatorland is at 14501 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32837, between Orlando and Kissimmee. Transport is not included with this ticket, so you drive or take a taxi or rideshare. The location makes it easy to fit in around other plans in the Orlando and Kissimmee area.
Is Gatorland good for young children?
Yes. There is a petting zoo, a free-flight aviary and a small water play area, so bring a towel. Strollers are available to rent. The shows involve large live alligators and splashing water, which most children love, but sit a few rows back if yours are easily startled. There are no age limits in the listing.
Will I see white alligators?
The park is home to four rare leucistic white alligators, and the listing picks them out as one of its highlights alongside the thousands of regular alligators and crocodiles. Viewing depends on the animals and conditions on the day, so ask staff where to find them if you do not spot them.
